What Ember keeps

Where it's kept

In the EU: Ember's server runs at Render in Frankfurt, Germany, and its database is at Supabase in Dublin, Ireland.

Who else sees it

To think, Ember sends what it remembers about you and your recent conversation to Anthropic's Claude API (its mind). Anthropic doesn't use API data to train its models by default; this processing may happen in the United States. Payments for Ember Plus are handled by Stripe: you pay on Stripe's own page, and Ember never sees your card details. If you turn on notifications, Ember keeps your device's notification address, and each check-up goes, encrypted so only your device can read it, through your phone's or browser's notification service (Apple, Google or Mozilla). Nobody else gets your data. It is never sold, never shared for advertising, and Ember shows no ads.

Your control

What Ember is not

Ember is not a therapist, a doctor or a crisis service. If you're having a hard time or thinking about hurting yourself, please reach out to people who can help right now: in the US, call or text 988 (free, day and night); in the UK and Ireland, call Samaritans on 116 123; anywhere else, findahelpline.com lists free helplines in your country. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the US, 112 in Europe).

Age

Ember is for people aged 16 and over.

Questions
